This is important. Pepper spray should only ever be used to pacify a dangerous suspect. In this case it is being administered as a punishment, in clear violation of the 8th amendment and Article Five of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Activist were peacefully protesting on their campus at University of California, Davis Quad.

Friday afternoon police showed up in riot gear to disperse the protesters by using pepper spray at point-blank range.

THIS IS NOT A FUCKING WAR. THESE ARE NOT VIOLENT CRIMINALS. I can understand wanting students to stay designated free speech area (which is a completely legal on college campuses and I guarantee you that almost all of them have one, even though they’re normally not in a high traffic or desirable locations), I haven’t seen anywhere saying they were in one. You can break up a peaceful protest if it’s causing problems and not in the designated free speech area, BUT YOU DO NOT CALL IN THE FUCKING RIOT SQUAD. THAT’S THE MOST IRRESPONSIBLE THING I’VE EVER HEARD.

Look at the casual way he’s strutting around with that pepper spray, too. This is a fucking power-tripping sadist who has probably gotten away with this kind of abuse for a long time, which is why he feels perfectly at ease doing it to kids in front of film cameras. He knows he won’t be punished.
